Arshavin led his team, the Russian St. Petersburg club to win their first Russian Premier League title since 1984 and got the second place in the 2001 “Player of the year” title. In 2008, Arshavin scored the second and third goal for Russia against Holland and was chosen as the player of the match. He was also enlisted in the World Best Players of the year in 2008.
